laura

Laura by Otto Preminger (1944)

It looks like I'm in a bit of mystery mood this month. I watched Laura today and it has every ingredients a forties film noir should have : trench coats, smokes, large-brimmed hats, square shoulders, chunky heels, killer lines (a killer too), light-on-the-face interviews, a moody detective, a narrative, ice cubes clinking in crystal glasses and someone walking in bad weather at night.
